Role ResponsibilitiesAs the Infant and Toddler Coordinator, you will oversee and mentor a team of educators specializing in early childhood development. Your primary focus will be on the delivery of a comprehensive curriculum, ensuring adherence to classroom standards, and fostering the professional advancement of the teaching staff. Key responsibilities include:
- Directly supervising PreK Lead Teachers within the program.
- Conducting regular assessments, observations, and evaluations to ensure adherence to performance standards and program policies.
- Facilitating professional development opportunities for educators, providing constructive feedback, and promoting a culture of continuous learning.
- Encouraging a collaborative team atmosphere through effective communication and conflict resolution.
- Implementing developmentally appropriate curricula that cater to the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional growth of infants and toddlers.
- Monitoring curriculum execution across classrooms to maintain quality and consistency.
- Ensuring compliance with licensing, accreditation, and regulatory standards in all Infant and Toddler classrooms.
- Conducting health and safety compliance checks and ensuring appropriate child-staff ratios.
- Reviewing documentation related to child care, health, and developmental milestones for accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborating with HR for recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes.
- Leading team meetings and training sessions to share best practices and essential information.
- Working with other program coordinators to ensure smooth transitions and effective communication across various age groups.
- Maintaining regular communication with families regarding curriculum updates and child development.
- Analyzing data related to program outcomes and teacher performance to evaluate effectiveness.
- Participating in program evaluations to identify improvement areas and implement necessary changes.
- Staying updated on current research and best practices in early childhood education.
- Ensuring compliance with AmeriCorps requirements.
- Completing required professional development hours annually.
- Performing additional duties as assigned to support Our House's mission.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working with young children.
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
- Ability to engage effectively with diverse staff, parents, and community members.
- Experience in conflict resolution and crisis management.
- Proactive, adaptable, and innovative approach to curriculum development.
- Strong passion for the mission, integrity, and a positive attitude.
- Excellent team-building, analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
- Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Successful completion of background checks and drug screening is mandatory.
