Position Overview
The McCoy College of Business at Texas State University is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Professor in Finance to join our faculty. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in finance, conducting research, and contributing to the college's mission of providing student-centered education.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach courses in finance, including corporate finance, asset pricing, and behavioral finance.
- Develop and maintain a research agenda in finance, with a focus on publishing in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals.
- Contribute to the college's mission by participating in service activities, such as committee work and advising students.
- Stay current with industry trends and developments in finance, and incorporate this knowledge into your teaching and research.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Finance or a related field from an AACSB-accredited university.
- Strong potential for publishing in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals.
- Strong potential for superior teaching effectiveness at the university level.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications, such as the CFA, and industry experience.
- Teaching courses in financial technology.
- Expertise in quantitative finance, data analysis, fintech, applications of artificial intelligence/machine learning/natural language processing, big data analytics in finance, digital assets and currencies, and associated technologies such as blockchain and smart contracts, and computational modeling.
