Job Description

The McCoy College of Business at Texas State University is seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor in Finance to join its faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in finance, as well as contributing to the development of the college's research agenda.

Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in finance, including corporate finance, financial management, and investments.
  • Conduct research in finance and publish in top-tier academic journals.
  • Develop and maintain a strong research program that aligns with the college's research priorities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement new courses and programs in finance.
  • Participate in departmental and college service activities, such as committee work and advising students.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Finance or a related field from an AACSB-accredited university.
  • Strong potential for publishing in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals.
  • Strong potential for superior teaching effectiveness at the university level.
  • Professional certifications, such as the CFA, and industry experience are valued.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expertise in quantitative finance, data analysis, fintech, applications of artificial intelligence/machine learning/natural language processing, big data analytics in finance, digital assets and currencies, and associated technologies such as blockchain and smart contracts, and computational modeling.
