The EHS Leader will provide intermediate-level site expertise to assigned business units, supporting the field safety team and partnering with the EHS function to implement the global EHS management system.
Key Responsibilities- Support sites in executing EHS processes, including training, environmental compliance, occupational health and safety, workers' compensation, transportation safety, contractor management, and business continuity.
- Identify, assess, and control workplace hazards, escalating resistance to leadership and direct line managers as needed.
- Execute injury prevention programs and initiatives to motivate a world-class safety culture and minimize injury risk.
- Manage, deliver, and track compliance training programs, identifying gaps and opportunities for training based on injury trends, KPIs, and risk assessments.
- Support workers' compensation claims, completing OSHA determinations and promoting safe and early return to work.
- Partner with functional leaders to influence EHS resources, projects, and business decisions, providing input on standardized safety systems, policies, training, campaigns, and programs.
- Bachelor's degree in EHS, risk management, safety, industrial, quality, or environmental engineering or a closely related field.
- 3+ years of EHS program management experience with large national or multi-national companies with multiple sites.
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) designation or ability to acquire within 1 year.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation, Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or other professionally recognized certifications in EHS.
- Master's degree in EHS, risk management, safety, industrial, quality, or environmental engineering or a closely related field.
- 3-6 years of progressive EHS program management experience with large national or multi-national companies with multiple sites.
The EHS Leader will work in various indoor, outdoor, freezer, and cooler climates and driving conditions for a 24-hour, 7-day operation. Occasional work from home.
