Sustainability Communications Lead

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainability Communications Lead to join our team at the Bezos Earth Fund. As a key member of our Environmental and Climate Justice program, you will be responsible for developing and executing effective communication strategies that showcase the impact of our work and promote our mission.
This position requires exceptional project management skills, attention to detail, and expertise in media relations. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience working in climate, environmental justice, or sustainability sectors, with a strong track record of producing high-quality content tailored to diverse audiences and channels.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies for the Environmental and Climate Justice program.
- Collaborate with the institutional communications team and partners to ensure consistency in messaging and branding efforts.
- Work closely with the ECJ team and partners to identify and share compelling stories across various communications channels.
- Partner with Earth Fund staff and project partners to co-create engaging content, including articles, social media posts, email marketing campaigns, and video materials that highlight the impact and progress of our initiatives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for grantee partners and/or communications contractors, ensuring seamless communication and effective execution of communications products.
- Oversight of communications contractors to design and implement digital and media campaigns, in collaboration with program leads and the institutional communications team.
- Support Earth Fund staff in maintaining fresh and engaging content on Environmental and Climate Justice and Greening America's Cities website pages, ensuring accurate representation of each initiative's objectives, progress, and impact.
- Development of individual and team social media strategies and profiles, in collaboration with the Chief for Environmental and Climate Justice, Director Equitable Urban Strategies, and others.
- Monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of communication strategies, adapting as needed to maximize outreach and impact.
- Liaising with external contractors, overseeing communications consults, and ensuring timely completion of outsourced communication-related tasks and projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the team leader.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- 8-10 years of experience in communications, preferably in climate, environmental justice, or sustainability sectors.
- Multilingual capability preferred (Spanish, French, and/or Portuguese).
Estimated Salary Range: $175,000 - $195,000 per year, based on industry standards, location, and required qualifications. Benefits include a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
