Clinical Responder Job Summary

The Clinical Responder is a critical member of the Network for Hope (NFH) team, responsible for ensuring timely review and follow-up of eligible organ referrals. This role involves onsite evaluation of potential donors, reviewing hospital EMR for clinical status updates, and communicating with clinical personnel. The Clinical Responder will work closely with on-call team members and leadership to triage each referral appropriately.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct onsite evaluations of potential donors to determine medical suitability for donation.
  2. Review hospital EMR for clinical status updates and communicate with clinical personnel as needed.
  3. Work closely with on-call team members and leadership to triage each referral appropriately.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor information and charting documentation.
  5. Provide emotional support and donation process expertise to donor families.
  6. Build relationships with stakeholders and deliver exceptional customer service.
Requirements
  • Some post-secondary education is required, with an associate degree in allied or health science preferred.
  • Two years of experience in a medical/critical care field or OPO is required, with experience as a Medical Technologist, Nursing Assistant, Unit Secretary, EMT, Paramedic, or RRT preferred.
  • Competence in electronic medical records and an understanding of medical charting and terminology is required.
