MISSION STATEMENT:

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

The primary objective of this role is to ensure the cleanliness and operational efficiency of the facility and vehicles. This includes performing regular cleaning tasks, executing maintenance duties, driving company vehicles for the collection of donations and supplies, and supporting Emergency Disaster Services through team recruitment, training, and deployment during local emergencies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Ensure the cleanliness of all community center buildings, including offices, restrooms, classrooms, kitchens, and common areas.
  2. Maintain the cleanliness of outdoor areas, including parking lots and landscaping.
  3. Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of vehicles.
  4. Conduct repairs on facilities and equipment as necessary.
  5. Coordinate with external maintenance vendors and manage the internal approval process when required.
  6. Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and maintenance tools.
  7. Prepare and set up rooms for various programs and activities.
  8. Collect and manage food donations and supplies.
  9. Implement the Injury and Illness Prevention Program.
  10. Assist in the recruitment and training of an Emergency Disaster Response Team.
  11. Ensure that the canteen is ready for deployment with all necessary equipment and supplies.
  12. Support seasonal fundraising efforts and other community programs as needed.
  13. Participate in all staff meetings and other required gatherings.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
  3. Strong commitment to confidentiality.
  4. Preferred experience of at least one year in maintenance or custodial services.
  5. Ability to uphold high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  6. Excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

  1. Valid Washington Class C Driver's License required, with the ability to operate a Salvation Army vehicle.
  2. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  3. Completion of The Salvation Army vehicle operation training is mandatory.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist regularly.
  2. Capability to grasp, push, and pull objects as needed.
  3. Ability to reach overhead and operate telecommunication devices.
  4. Ability to lift objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  5. Ability to process information in written, visual, and verbal formats.
