Position Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled sheet metal roofer to contribute to our projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in assembling sheet metal components and materials with precision, adhering to established plans and specifications. The role requires a strong understanding of both written and verbal instructions, as well as the ability to interpret drawings and work directives. Candidates will engage with metal cladding, insulation, and steel components, showcasing expertise in roofing, carpentry, material handling, and mechanical assembly while ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Constructing skeleton and square frames
- Applying metal and insulation sheeting
- Handling materials, including operating necessary equipment
- Utilizing all non-specialized shop equipment and both hand and power tools
- Performing additional duties as assigned
Essential Requirements
- Experience in roofing, construction, or manufacturing sectors
- Background in carpentry
- Competence in a trade with the ability to apply skills across various tasks
- Ability to select appropriate tools and ensure their proper use
- Proficient operation of non-specialized shop equipment
- Active participation in developing processes for consistent task execution
Qualifications
- Preferred 3+ years of experience in roofing or carpentry
- Experience in metal building and construction installation is advantageous
- High school diploma, general education degree, or vocational training
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
The physical demands for this position require the employee to maintain full mobility in both upper and lower body, including the ability to reach overhead and work in various positions such as standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, and squatting. Candidates must be capable of lifting, pulling, and pushing materials and equipment to complete assigned tasks, with the ability to lift up to 70 pounds. Exposure to typical shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors is expected. This role involves physical activity in a primarily production-oriented environment.
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly wage for this position ranges from $34.00, depending on experience and qualifications.
