Job Title: Project Engineer

Job Summary:

The Project Engineer is responsible for the successful execution and delivery of projects designed to meet specific customer needs and goals. This role requires strong technical expertise in building structures and construction, as well as excellent communication and presentation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of designated projects to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters.
  • Lead multiple project efforts and manage the detailed technical schedule and financial performance of the project to deliver a quality product, on time and at the lowest achievable cost.
  • Collaborate with customers, management, and associates for the best solutions and provide technical advice and resolve problems that may arise onsite.
  • Subcontractor/vendor selection and management, expense management, and point of customer contact for project status.
  • Ensure adherence to standard processes and procedures throughout all phases of the project.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in managing projects in a project construction/engineering environment, preferred.
  • Engineering, Construction, or related technical degree, preferred.
  • Highly proficient in reading construction/shop drawings, technical literature, and other construction documents.
  • Experience supporting sales efforts and presenting both strategic and technical solutions.
  • Experience using project scheduling software and excellent computer skills.
  • Experience in structural steel and concrete construction.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills along with the ability to collaborate with peers, partners, and leaders.
  • Must be able to frequently work at heights with the use of fall-protection/fall-arrest equipment.
  • Must be able to drive company vehicles both owned and rented.
  • Must be able to gain access to secure facilities which require strict background checks and drug screens.
  • Must be able to travel +25% of the time.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to work at heights and wear appropriate PPE and fall-protection/fall-arrest equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
