Job Summary

The Nurse Practitioner role at St. Luke's involves practicing medicine in a clinic or hospital setting, under the direction and responsible supervision of a Licensed Physician. This individual evaluates and monitors health status, performs diagnostic and therapeutic services, and provides age-appropriate education and counseling for disease prevention, risk reduction, and health maintenance. The Nurse Practitioner coordinates referrals for specialty care or social service support, working collaboratively with the supervising Physician.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure with the appropriate state licensing agency
  • Certified or eligible for certification as a Nurse Practitioner by a national professional nursing organization
  • Eligibility for registration as a Nurse Practitioner in Wisconsin may be required

Working Conditions

  • Able to meet the physical demands of primary care practice, including standing, walking, and using hands to finger, handle, or feel
  • May be exposed to risk of bloodborne diseases

Additional Information

This position will work closely with a stable and approachable physician group, doing a mix of observation medicine and ED shifts. The estimated hours are 1100-1900 in ED and 2300-0700 in ED observation unit. Shift length is 8 hours.
