We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Meat Department Lead to join our team at Walmart. As a Meat Department Lead, you will be responsible for driving sales in your area and supervising a team of hourly associates to deliver exceptional customer service and meet business objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate a team of associates to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service.
- Product Knowledge: Maintain in-depth knowledge of meat products, including boneless and bone-in products, and ensure that the meat department meets company and regulatory standards for quality, inventory, production, equipment usage, safety, sanitation, and compliance.
- Operational Excellence: Leverage digital tools to plan for and drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement. Utilize handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality.
- Training and Development: Identify training needs, provide and develop necessary skills to deliver high-quality products to customers, and encourage career growth for team members.
- Customer Service: Engage with customers, share passion for the product, and help them make informed purchasing decisions.
- Inventory Management: Facilitate the product inventory and ordering process, ensure accurate audit and compliance standards, and maintain a neat, clean, and safe work area.
- Communication: Develop, communicate, and implement processes and practices to meet business needs, collaborate with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners, and analyze and apply information from multiple sources.
- 6 months experience in a meat production department or 6 months experience supervising a team.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Meat processing experience, including boneless and bone-in products.
- Supervising associates experience.
