About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Group Life Coordinator 2 to join our team at the Eastern Oregon Youth Correctional Facility. As a Group Life Coordinator 2, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for both the youth in our care and our staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coaching and Guidance: Provide guidance and pro-social role modeling to ensure that youth carry out their day-to-day activities in a constructive and positive manner.
  • Behavioral Support: Observe, evaluate, and record youth behavior, attitude, and performance, including their attendance and participation in treatment groups, recreational activities, vocational/educational programs, and community service projects.
  • Incident Reporting: Prepare Youth Incident Reports (YIRs) and document any unusual incidents or critical events.
  • Supervision and Training: Assign, train, and supervise youth who perform various chores and jobs within the facility, such as maintenance, kitchen work, laundry, landscaping, and janitorial duties.
  • Community-Based Work Crews: Supervise youth performing community-based work crew activities when appropriate.
  • Health and Safety: Monitor youth offenders for potential health and safety risks, including suicide prevention.
  • Security Inspections: Conduct security inspections and searches of the facility, grounds, and state vehicles.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medication to youth (under the indirect supervision of medical staff) and maintain contact with medical staff to ensure appropriate medical care for the youth.
  • Transportation: Provide secure transport of youth to appointments within the community as needed.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent and relevant experience working with youth in a correctional or treatment setting.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively with youth and staff, and a commitment to creating a safe and positive environment.
