Job Description:Oregon Youth Authority Group Life Coordinator 2

GLC2 Salary: $24.92 - $35.35 hourly

The Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) is seeking a Group Life Coordinator 2 (GLC2) to maintain a safe and secure environment for youth in our care and staff. As a GLC2, you will provide guidance and pro-social role modeling to ensure youth carry out day-to-day activities in a constructive and positive manner.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coaching, confronting, and correcting youth behavior as necessary.
  • Observing, evaluating, and recording youth behavior, attitude, and performance.
  • Preparing Youth Incident Reports (YIRs) and documenting unusual incidents or critical events.
  • Assigning, training, and supervising youth performing various chores and jobs within the facility.
  • Supervising youth performing community-based work crew activities when appropriate.
  • Monitoring youth offenders for potential health and safety risks.
  • Conducting security inspections and searches of the facility, grounds, and state vehicles.
  • Administering medication to youth under indirect supervision of medical staff.
  • Providing secure transport of youth to appointments within the community as needed.

About the Position:

This is a permanent, full-time position with the Oregon Youth Authority. The salary range is $24.92 - $35.35 hourly, and the position receives annual increases on anniversary date until the maximum of the salary range is reached.
