Position Overview

Team Dynamics

This team is engaged in AI and Generative AI initiatives within Operations, functioning as a segment of our Process Transformation & Automation (PTA) division, which is integrated into our broader Operations Transformation & Enablement framework.

Role Responsibilities

The Principal Solution Architect will spearhead the swift execution of AI and Generative AI projects through the development of Proof-of-Concepts, pilots, and Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) in partnership with the AI Center of Excellence and technical teams to validate scalable solutions. This role will oversee the implementation of AI and Generative AI technologies, converting business needs into effective solution architectures, coordinating with risk and compliance teams, and addressing integration requirements. Collaboration with PTA discovery teams and business stakeholders will be essential to assess feasibility and prioritize initiatives that deliver business value. This position is pivotal for the PTA in advancing AI projects efficiently and achieving desired business results.

Key Duties

  • Establish and guide the technical direction and architectural framework for AI, Machine Learning, and Generative AI, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and automation initiatives.
  • Transform the strategic vision of business leaders into actionable technical solutions, while identifying misaligned projects and impractical use cases.
  • Contribute significantly to the design of a comprehensive AI Engineering framework that facilitates the deployment, assessment, and management of Machine Learning models and Generative AI solutions.
  • Select suitable technologies from a range of open-source and commercial options, considering deployment strategies and integration with existing systems.
  • Engage with MLOps and LLMOps, focusing on operational capabilities and infrastructure necessary for deploying and managing machine learning models and large language models.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise, Application, Data, and DevOps Architects, Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, and Business teams to pilot use cases and discuss architectural designs.
  • Collect insights from various stakeholders to ensure technical implementations align with current and future requirements.
  • Maintain relationships with key decision-makers, lead proposal development, and assist in pricing strategies.
  • Ensure the successful delivery of AI-driven applications utilizing agile methodologies.
  • Evaluate AI tools and practices across data, models, and software engineering, emphasizing continuous improvement and feedback mechanisms.
  • Contribute to the standardization of CI/CD pipelines, user and service roles, and methodologies for container creation, model consumption, testing, and deployment based on business and security needs.
  • Work closely with security and risk management leaders to anticipate and mitigate risks, ensuring ethical AI deployment and compliance with emerging regulations.
  • Address potential challenges such as training data integrity, AI model security, and adversarial samples.
  • Assist AI product managers and business stakeholders in understanding the capabilities and limitations of AI when conceptualizing new products.
  • Analyze client challenges and leverage knowledge of leading technologies, analytical methods, tools, and operational models.
  • Develop tools and capabilities that facilitate data ingestion, feature engineering, data management, and organization.
  • Design, implement, and sustain distributed computing solutions for data processing and model training, ensuring the security, scalability, and reliability of machine learning infrastructure.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience leading complex Generative AI architecture projects.
  • Familiarity with Azure and/or AWS, and Large Language Models.
  • Experience in Enterprise Architecture and knowledge of architectural frameworks and methodologies.
  • Understanding of Cloud engineering, application architectures, application patterns, and domain-driven microservices.
  • Ability to influence technical teams and leadership on key engineering principles and drive alignment with modern technology practices.
  • Strong comprehension and previous experience with Proof of Concepts and architectural blueprints.

Work Environment

This role supports a hybrid work model, requiring in-office attendance for three or more days per week, with flexibility for remote work on other days.
