Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care in a correctional health care setting, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic and technical level of general nursing care to patients in a variety of correctional health care settings.
  • Ensure the delivery of appropriate and timely healthcare to patients, working in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Provide technical patient care under valid authorization by a provider's order and the delegation and clinical direction of the RN.
  • Support the care team for daily healthcare operations and communicate effectively with patients and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Address the ongoing needs of patients, working with physicians and other healthcare providers, and promote the efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective use of healthcare resources.
Requirements
  • Possession of a valid, active license from the State of California to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced correctional healthcare environment and maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a dynamic environment.
