We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Oncology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to individuals with melanoma and kidney cancer.
Responsibilities- Clinical Care: Provide assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient needs throughout the disease process. Work collaboratively with attending physicians to ensure optimal patient care.
- Patient Education and Psychosocial Support: Educate patients and families on care and recommended resources. Provide psychosocial support to patients and their loved ones in a caring and professional manner.
- Information Management: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information. Protect patient confidentiality and maintain the integrity of patient records.
- Quality Management: Demonstrate a high standard of professionalism, compassion, and commitment to patient care. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing education and professional development to maintain and advance clinical competency. Serve as a clinical resource and preceptor for new staff members and students.
We require a graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program. Prefer clinical experience in oncology, but none is required. APRNs, PAs, CRNAs, and CNMs must be appointed to the Affiliated Medical Staff of a YNHHS Hospital and credentialed through the Medical Staff process.
Evidence of current competence to practice as an APRN, PA, CRNA, or CNM is required. Active PA certification by the NCCPA, Connecticut State Physician Assistant License, ACLS/BLS certification, and DEA License (when indicated) are also required.
