The School Health Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the health and wellness objectives of AtlantiCare by identifying community health needs and developing programs to address them. This position requires a strong understanding of health education principles and the ability to work effectively with school districts and community partners.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the planning and implementation of health and wellness initiatives within the framework of the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child model.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local school districts, community organizations, and internal stakeholders.
- Develop and execute health education programs and strategies to promote healthy behaviors and outcomes.
- Collaborate with the health engagement team to make referrals to related programs and services.
- Participate in performance improvement efforts and contribute to the development of quality improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in a related health education field.
- Minimum 3 years of professional health education and program development experience in a school or youth-based setting.
- Grant management experience and high-level computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Internet, are strongly preferred.
- Valid NJ driver's license required.
This position requires travel within the AtlantiCare primary and regional service areas. The position may also require occasional walking and standing, as well as the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
