**Full-time Position**

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at Mount Desert Island Hospital.

**Job Summary:**

As a member of our Surgical Services team, you will work under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse to assist with all aspects of patient care in the operating room. Your responsibilities will include performing sterile processing duties, maintaining a safe and efficient operating room environment, and working collaboratively with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

**Responsibilities:**

* Assist with surgical procedures, including preparing and maintaining the operating room environment
* Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to ensure patient safety and well-being
* Perform sterile processing duties, including preparing and sterilizing equipment and supplies
* Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth and efficient surgical procedures
* Maintain accurate records and reports as required

**Requirements:**

* Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology
* National certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist
* Biannual CPR certification
* Ability to work calmly and effectively in emergency situations
* Ability to prioritize workload and evaluate/anticipate surgeon's needs
* Physical ability to stand/walk for extended periods, lift and carry 25-50 lbs, and perform CPR
