Key Responsibilities- Perform various administrative and clinical duties under the direction of your assigned direct supervisor.
- Consistently confer with physicians, nursing, and other staff members to coordinate and schedule appointments of patients.
- Greets and prepares patients for examinations and procedures.
- Measures and records vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse.
- Records patient interview, history, and chief complaint.
- Provides patient education on medications, disease management, home treatments, and special diets.
- Assists physicians with exams, including phlebotomy and collection of lab specimens.
- Performs basic lab tests, including EKGs and phlebotomy.
- Assists with X-ray and physician therapy procedures.
- Prepares and administers medications with physician authorization.
- Changes dressings, applies bandages, removes sutures, and performs other first aid procedures.
- Uses CPR skills when necessary.
- Prepares accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times.
- Opens and closes the office, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Assists in maintaining patient logs for lab requests, CT scans, and other treatment orders.
- Maintains the back office, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
- Assists with room turnover and prepares patient rooms for the next day.
- Updates patient medical records and ensures accurate and complete documentation.
- Assists in the orientation and training of new personnel.
- Performs other position-related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a related field preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records.
