Position Summary:

We are in search of a Senior Marine Mammal Trainer to enhance our operations. This dynamic position focuses on innovative programs related to Naval Marine Mammal activities. Your primary responsibility will be to train dolphins and sea lions to assist in naval mine countermeasures.

Core Duties:
  • Serve as the main handler for various marine mammals requiring specialized training.
  • Assume a leadership position within the training team, managing multiple trainers and animals.
  • Implement behavior modification and shaping strategies, executing intricate training protocols.
  • Design and develop comprehensive training plans and objectives.
  • Possibly lead a marine vessel team.
  • Provide mentorship and technical support to Marine Mammal Trainer II personnel.
  • Engage in potential diving activities.
Qualifications:

To thrive in this position, candidates should possess:
  • Experience: A minimum of 4 years in marine mammal training.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree or a High School diploma accompanied by 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Clearance: Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to obtain DOD Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with free release training techniques.

Compensation Range:

The expected salary for this role is between $39,000 and $62,000, depending on experience and relevant qualifications.
