Custodian III

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custodian III to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our state hospital buildings and treatment units.

Responsibilities:
• Perform highly complex custodial work, including cleaning, sanitizing, and inspecting buildings and equipment.
• Provide housekeeping services in a clinical setting, including conducting inspections and ordering supplies.
• Work under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including participating in disaster response and recovery efforts.

Requirements:
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures, including dusting, sweeping, and mopping.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to stay on task and complete work timely.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand/walk on hard floors for extended periods.
• Ability to work harmoniously and productively with co-workers and patients.
