San Francisco, California, United States Postman, Inc. Full time
About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Designer to join our Ecosystem team at Postman, Inc. As a key member of our product organization, you will be responsible for shaping the future of our ecosystem platform and product integrations, driving innovation, and expanding our reach in API development and collaboration.

You will design integrated cross-tool experiences that will empower teams to create, collaborate, manage, and scale their APIs and solutions. This position requires an obsessive interest in developer journeys, with a deep curiosity for understanding the broader developer ecosystem, and a passion for delivering exceptional developer experiences.

You will work closely with our product, partnership, and engineering stakeholders to own the user experience from ideation to execution. Your success will be measured by developer satisfaction and business impact, including active usage and revenue metrics.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and Validate Experiences: Design and validate experiences that enable developers to work across their entire toolchain and Postman efficiently and effectively.
  2. Own the User Experience: Own the user experience from ideation to execution while working closely with your product, partnership, and engineering stakeholders.
  3. Strategic UX Goals: Work with your product managers to strategically define UX goals and opportunities for cross-product developer workflows, keeping business outcomes such as active usage and revenue in mind.
  4. Customer Insights: Research, gather, and consolidate customer insights (both qualitative and quantitative) to inform our strategy, priorities, requirements, and use cases for the ecosystem platform and integrations.
  5. Design Deliverables: Produce design deliverables consistent with the Postman experience and brand standards.
  6. Advocate for Best Practices: Advocate for functional best practices across the ecosystem and integrations teams, and collaborate with the broader design team to integrate learnings into the Postman design system and language.
  7. Continuous Social Listening: Continuous social listening through various channels to better understand how people use Postman.
  8. Foster a Developer Community: Foster a vibrant developer community and implement feedback mechanisms to continuously improve developer satisfaction.
  9. Communicate User Concerns: Clearly and concisely communicate user concerns, motivations, and feedback, both internally and externally. Be the voice of the user within your team.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Product Designer with a strong background in end-to-end design practices. You should have:

  1. 8+ Years of Experience: 8+ years of experience in end-to-end design practices in companies solving interesting real-world pain points.
  2. Experimentally Driven Team Experience: Experience working with an experimentally driven product team. You work on hypotheses and validate rigorously to build conviction on your design approaches.
  3. Eye for Well-Designed Products: An eye for well-designed, functional products (physical and digital).
  4. Visual Communication Skills: You can visually communicate an idea by creating quick, low-fidelity mockups such as pencil sketches.
  5. Collaboration and Feedback: You proactively seek feedback, tuning the fidelity of your work for the stage of product development. You can identify collaborative opportunities across the broader product and design organization and know how to curate your intended audience for feedback.
  6. High-Fidelity Mockups and Prototypes: You can create high-fidelity mockups and prototypes to articulate detailed experiences and user interactions. You can validate these by doing quick usability tests against real users and build convictions on the ideas that you propose.
  7. Excellent Communication Skills: You are an excellent communicator and continuously keep the broader team in the loop on the work that you're doing, product goals that you're aligning to, user insights you might discover, and the success that you're driving. You are comfortable collaborating across teams and locations.
  8. API Knowledge: A good understanding of how APIs work and what Postman enables for developers is important. It's okay if you're not an expert as long as you take initiative and are curious to learn about how developer tools work together. Hands-on development experience will be a great trait to have for this role.
  9. Product Knowledge: Familiarity with products that have mature extensibility, integrations, and ecosystem frameworks such as Atlassian, Slack, Microsoft, Hubspot, Salesforce, etc. will be desirable.
Our Values

We value transparency and honest communication about not only successes, but also failures. We focus on specific goals that add up to a larger vision. Our inclusive work culture ensures that everyone is valued equally as important pieces of our final product. We are dedicated to delivering the best products we can.
