Shift: Days

Role Overview:

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will perform respiratory procedures under the guidance of physicians across various patient settings. Your responsibilities will include conducting patient assessments, developing care plans, and evaluating and adjusting therapy plans as necessary. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes, taking into account the diverse backgrounds and ages of patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer respiratory care procedures in various clinical settings, adhering to departmental protocols.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions, including patient monitoring, medication administration, ventilation support, and bronchial hygiene.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gases, pulmonary function tests, electrocardiograms, and pulse oximetry.
  • Provide assistance during cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency situations, ensuring airway management and cardiac support.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Education Program (e.g., CoARC, JRCRTE, or CAAHEP)
  • Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (N.B.R.C.)
  • Valid state Respiratory Therapist License (RLT)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Additional certifications required upon hire or within six months include:
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
