Role Overview

In this position, you will be instrumental in deploying and managing a Zero-Trust architecture while shaping the security framework of our Information Security services. Your role will involve identifying threats and vulnerabilities within Syapse's systems and software, leading the development and implementation of advanced solutions to protect against hacking, malware, ransomware, insider threats, and various forms of cybercrime. You will collaborate with an InfoSec, IT, and DevOps team, recognizing that our success is rooted in teamwork.

Your contributions will be vital to our compliance and certification initiatives, including HIPAA, HITRUST, and other relevant audits and risk assessments. You will work closely with all corporate stakeholders to enhance security measures across data and code pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and address threats and vulnerabilities in Syapse systems and software, applying necessary patches and upgrades.
  • Develop and implement advanced solutions to safeguard against hacking, malware, ransomware, insider threats, and all forms of cybercrime.
  • Manage configurations for network security systems, including firewalls, cloud security tools, and endpoint configurations.
  • Establish continuous monitoring and alerting through log aggregation and event correlation capabilities.
  • Deploy essential components of the Zero-Trust architecture as outlined in the roadmap.
  • Lead the security operations function, providing operational support with appropriate tools and processes.
  • Advise development teams on designs and best practices related to information security.
  • Participate in proof of concept initiatives to evaluate product ideas and recommend security architecture designs for product development.
  • Conduct new and annual vendor security risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with R&D to implement security tools and represent InfoSec in cross-functional DevSecOps initiatives.
  • Coordinate and support regular third-party penetration testing efforts.
  • Work closely with the IT team to ensure High Availability and Disaster Recovery for all corporate IT systems and services.
  • Facilitate incident response processes in collaboration with the leadership team.
  • Promote information security best practices throughout the organization.
  • Represent InfoSec to maintain and enhance business continuity plans.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Information Security, with a focus on managing the security and compliance posture of corporate and cloud-based applications.
  • Operational expertise in secure Network Architecture, Vulnerability Management, Threat Modeling, Cloud Security, Firewalls, SSO, MFA, AV, Malware, DLP, Data Encryption, Least Privilege, and RBAC.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS (preferred), Google Compute, or Azure.
  • Strong background in Network Application Security practices.
  • Experience managing compliance audits (HIPAA, SOX, etc.).
  • Familiarity with compliance certifications like PCI, SOC2, HITRUST, or FEDRAMP/FISMA.
  • Experience with external software penetration testing.
  • A collaborative mindset and a sense of ownership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in drafting and maintaining Information Security policies.
  • Secure SDLC experience in partnership with R&D.
  • Knowledge of Disaster Recovery, Incident Response, and Business Continuity practices.
  • Experience with SIEM.
  • Background in HIPAA and/or healthcare technology.

Compensation: The target base salary for this position ranges from $170,000 to $200,000. This base salary is part of a comprehensive compensation package that includes an annual bonus, benefits, a 401k with matching, flexible PTO, and incentive pay for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary based on market factors, experience, location, and other relevant business considerations.
