The Senior Flight Safety System Engineer position is a critical role within the Energetics and Propulsion Department at Raytheon. This team is responsible for designing and developing propulsion technology to support the Land Warfare and Air Defense mission area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and propose solutions to mitigate issues related to flight safety systems.
  • Work independently as a self-starter and effectively communicate with the team.
  • Develop and qualify flight systems for harsh environments.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure the design and development of propulsion technology meets the required standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • 5 years of experience in technical engineering, preferably in the aerospace or government sector.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • 5 years of directly related experience in mechanical and electrical design.
  • Specific experience developing electrical sub-systems used in flight termination systems.
  • Working knowledge of RCC319.
