Job Description

Castle Biosciences is seeking a highly skilled Director of Research and Development for Spatialomics and GI to lead a team of scientists and medical writers in effectively disseminating evidence supporting the application and reimbursement of diagnostic, prognostic, and predictive tests.

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. level training with 4-5 years of experience in the biotech or healthcare fields, including extensive practical experience in all phases of the publication process, knowledge of statistical analyses and approaches, and working knowledge of machine learning applications.

The Director will be responsible for directing the organization, analysis, and presentation of clinical data, overseeing product enhancements, and advising on clinical study design. They will also supervise the creation and visual presentation of scientific messaging materials and drive innovative approaches to communicate scientific information and training to both internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, written and oral, and leadership skills to delegate actions to the R&D group. They will also demonstrate mentorship skills to develop analytical techniques and interpretation among the R&D team.

The position is preferably based at the Pittsburgh, PA, office, but the company may also consider candidates for the Friendswood, TX, office. The salary range for this position is $145,000 - $160,000, based on experience and education levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of scientists and medical writers in effectively disseminating evidence supporting the application and reimbursement of diagnostic, prognostic, and predictive tests.
  • Direct the organization, analysis, and presentation of clinical data.
  • Oversee product enhancements and advise on clinical study design.
  • Supervise the creation and visual presentation of scientific messaging materials.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. level training with 4-5 years of experience in the biotech or healthcare fields.

  • Working knowledge of machine learning applications.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, written and oral.

Work Environment:

The position is preferably based at the Pittsburgh, PA, office, but the company may also consider candidates for the Friendswood, TX, office. The work environment is collaborative and dynamic, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
