About the Role:
The Senior Commercial Underwriter is responsible for evaluating new and renewal commercial and industrial (C&I) and commercial real estate (CRE) credit applications. This includes working capital lines of credit, asset-based lines of credit, and equipment financing for businesses with revenues exceeding $5 million.
This role involves collaboration with Client Solutions Managers (CSMs) and Relationship Managers to effectively communicate findings, including business rationale and risk mitigation strategies, to secure credit approvals and fulfill client requirements.
The position requires a thorough analysis of business, industry, and financial data, as well as other relevant credit information to identify key risks that may affect repayment capabilities. The underwriter will prepare precise and timely credit recommendations, incorporating quantitative elements into the underwriting narrative.
Additionally, the Senior Commercial Underwriter will monitor the financial performance of borrowers in accordance with loan agreements and ensure compliance with bank guidelines regarding financial statement analysis.
Collaboration with CSMs and Relationship Managers is essential to provide insights into customer financial needs and to evaluate the effectiveness of loan structures.
This role may also involve overseeing the work of junior underwriters or credit analysts, ensuring the submission of high-quality reports, and maintaining compliance with all banking regulations.
There may be opportunities to coach, mentor, or train other staff members and to contribute as a subject matter expert in training sessions.
About You:
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience, along with 7-10 years of commercial underwriting or credit analysis experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required, along with advanced knowledge of credit policies and procedures.

The salary range for this position is $76,000 to $109,433.70, with the final offer dependent on various non-discriminatory factors.
