Job Summary

Masonicare at Mystic is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team in the Memory Care Unit. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, assisting them with activities of daily living and personal care to maximize their independence, freedom of choice, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance with essential activities of daily living and personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, and undressing, ambulating, toileting, assistance with meals and nourishment, personal hygiene, and care of ADL devices.
  • Assist residents with instrumental activities of daily living, such as placing and/or receiving telephone calls, performing light housekeeping tasks, assisting with laundry, escorting residents, and coordinating internal transportation needs.
  • Assist residents with self-administration of medications through cueing only.
  • Observe and report changes in residents' physical condition and cognitive/emotional status to the ALSA Supervisor or Director of Assisted Living Services, as needed.
  • Conduct room checks on resident rounds, monitor for environmental safety hazards, record incidents, errors, or accidents, and record resident and resident-related events.
  • Assist with dining tasks, such as escorting residents, setting up and cleaning up, and serving meals.
  • Participate in and support the resident-centered activity program, completing required written documentation concerning resident care and activities during shift.
  • Act as a resident advocate at all times, following agency policies concerning confidentiality.
  • Use tactful, diplomatic communication in potentially sensitive or emotionally charged situations, and follow up with appropriate staff, residents, or others regarding reported complaints, problems, and concerns.
  • Act as an ambassador to guests and other off-campus visitors, maintaining certifications required for employment.
Requirements
  • CNA Certification is a must.
  • No experience required.
