The Senior Registered Nurse plays a crucial role within the healthcare team, contributing to the overall success of the practice by exemplifying patient-centered care, clear communication, professionalism, and teamwork. This position involves significant engagement in assisting physicians by accurately documenting patient visits and executing specific medical instructions in accordance with clinic policies and procedures. The RN will apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care for designated patient populations and their families.

Key Responsibilities

Part-time Clinic RN (20 hours)

Deliver and oversee patient care in alignment with established clinic protocols, including conducting admission interviews, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring efficient patient flow. Collaborate with physicians during patient examinations, documenting all relevant aspects of care in the electronic medical record (EMR), including chief complaints, histories, examinations, and treatment plans as directed. Work closely with physicians to guarantee thorough documentation of patient visits. Develop familiarity with physician practice patterns and terminology to facilitate efficient and precise real-time documentation during patient encounters. Prioritize patient care in emergency situations, prepare examination rooms, ensure sterilization, restock medical supplies, and assist in orienting new staff members to clinic procedures. Support healthcare providers with examinations, treatments, procedures, and testing as instructed, demonstrating a willingness to seek clarification and communicate concerns promptly. Perform phlebotomy and lab procedures, and relay results to patients as directed by the provider. Educate patients and their families on healthcare management, disease processes, treatments, and follow-up care under the direct supervision of healthcare providers. Maintain and update educational materials and consent forms as necessary. Ensure patients are adequately prepared for their care encounters by obtaining relevant medical records and documentation. Calculate visit estimates and explain payment options to patients. Manage incoming patient calls, prioritizing and documenting inquiries as appropriate. Undertake additional responsibilities within the scope of the role as assigned.

Qualifications

- Graduate of an accredited nursing program

- Current and valid Registered Nurse License from the state licensing authority is required.

- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
