Job Overview

Real Estate Redevelopment Specialist

This role is pivotal in securing both private and public funding for various housing initiatives, including single-family and multifamily developments. The incumbent will assess potential development sites and provide oversight to the Construction and Property Management branches.

The position entails managing the redevelopment of the agency's extensive portfolio of properties, focusing on mixed-use housing solutions. Responsibilities include conducting technical research, facilitating public/private partnerships for affordable rental housing, and spearheading neighborhood revitalization efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Identify and evaluate potential sites for housing development.
  2. Prepare comprehensive master plans and manage governmental applications and permits.
  3. Review and finalize financial plans for redevelopment projects.
  4. Negotiate contracts with various stakeholders, including consultants and funding entities.
  5. Administer financing activities, including both taxable and tax-exempt bonds.
  6. Design and execute complex financial transactions involving tax credits and bonds.

Qualifications:

Licenses and Certifications: A valid driver's license is preferred. Additional professional licenses or certifications in fields such as law, architecture, engineering, or real estate are advantageous.

Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in business administration, finance, real estate, or urban planning is preferred. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Experience: A minimum of seven years in progressively responsible roles related to residential property development, including experience in commercial property development and rehabilitation.
