Wireless Design Engineer - Field Testing of Advanced Mobile Devices

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel locally and regionally on short notice to evaluate cellular connectivity of next-generation mobile devices (spending 4 days in the field and 1 day in the lab each week).
  • Commute to testing sites, which may be up to an hour away, for full-day assessments, with transportation provided.
  • Identify and communicate technical issues effectively, demonstrating strong foundational skills and sound judgment.
  • Analyze testing data independently, adapting quickly to evolving conditions without constant assistance.
  • Seeking candidates with 1-5 years of relevant experience who possess solid fundamental skills.
  • Exhibit strong analytical abilities to identify problems, assessing testing conditions and determining the next steps autonomously.
  • Provide detailed reports on findings, articulating technical challenges and showcasing adaptability.
  • While expertise is not mandatory, candidates with a basic understanding of wireless technologies (LTE, 5GNR) will receive training.

Qualifications:

  • 1-5 years of experience in cellular testing (5G/LTE stack).
  • Familiarity with the cellular wireless domain, with a basic to intermediate understanding of 5GNR and LTE protocols.
  • Experience in troubleshooting common technical issues encountered in field testing.
  • Proficiency in cellular baseband log analysis, with varying levels of hands-on experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and sound judgment during test execution.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on identifying and resolving problems.
  • Willingness to travel locally and regionally on short notice.
  • Availability for domestic travel, potentially up to 2 weeks per quarter.
  • Experience in on-field debugging through cellular log analysis is highly valued.
  • Recent experience in field testing is strongly preferred.

Work Environment: Onsite role with a focus on hands-on testing and evaluation.

Compensation: Competitive pay range based on experience.
