Miles City, Montana, United States Intermountain Healthcare Full time
Job Summary:

As a Patient Access Representative PRN at Intermountain Healthcare, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth registration process for patients across multiple service lines. Your primary responsibility will be to collect and verify demographic, financial, and clinical information from patients or their representatives. This includes registering patients, confirming and updating required data on the registration system, and avoiding overlays and duplicate medical records. You will also be responsible for obtaining and explaining insurance cards, forms of ID, and signatures on required forms, as well as verifying information on appropriate accounts to determine insurance coordination of benefits and pre-certification/prior-authorization. Additionally, you will screen for and process non-covered services and waiver of liability (ABN) through automated screening at the time of service. Your excellent communication skills will be essential in informing self-pay patients of liability due, prepayment requirements, and coordinating screening of alternate funding sources if applicable. You will also be responsible for preparing estimates of procedures, calculating advance payment requirements, and referring potentially eligible patients to financial counseling and/or contract eligibility vendors. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be crucial in maintaining departmental and/or individual work queues and reports as required. You will also be responsible for explaining and answering patient billing inquiries and interpreting statement data to resolve accounts. If you have a strong organizational background and excellent communication skills, we encourage you to apply for this role.
