About the Role

LMI is seeking a skilled junior event planner to join our team in the Washington DC area. As a junior event planner, you will be responsible for planning and executing events and conferences for national and international visitors to a U.S. government office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate events, conferences, and meetings for government officials and international visitors.
  • Organize logistics, including meals, tours, programs, documents, audio-visual needs, transportation, translation services, and accommodations.
  • Collaborate with government contracting officers, sponsors, and protocol offices to provide support.
  • Manage the government gift locker for international visitors.
  • Support other event planners in documenting best practices and maintaining an Event Planning guide for ongoing use by the government office.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or four years of event planning experience in lieu of a degree.
  • One year of event planning support experience, including managing customer expectations and working directly with customers.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications.
  • Preferred qualifications include two years of experience supporting events with a Federal Agency or multinational organization, including knowledge of options within the Pentagon for catering, photography, and conference space, experience with entry and exit procedures, and understanding of international cultural considerations.
  • Applicants must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and have a current SECRET clearance, with a preference for a TOP SECRET clearance and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Access.
