About the Role

DelDOT is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Active Treatment Facilitator to join our team. As an Active Treatment Facilitator, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with mental health conditions, helping them to achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse to assist with client goals and interventions listed in clients' recovery plans.
  • Provide therapeutic activities on the unit and assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and room clean up.
  • Participate in crisis prevention and intervention with clients experiencing acute or chronic disabilities, including physical, mental, and developmental disorders in a psychiatric setting.
Essential Functions
  • Serve as a team leader, mentoring less experienced staff and leading therapeutic groups.
  • Implement treatment plans through individual and group therapeutic sessions, choosing activities and leading group sessions.
  • Update written records of therapeutic sessions, noting progress, problems, and possible solutions.
  • Intervene in crisis situations, using appropriate therapeutic techniques.
  • Observe, record, and report any unusual behavior or significant behavior changes.
  • Observe and supervise clients, ensuring their safety and security.
  • Plan, conduct, and participate in individual and group social activities, both on and off campus.
  • May work with public and private sectors to define and establish employment opportunities for clients, guiding and teaching them regarding employment behavior.
  • Participate in inter-disciplinary team meetings to provide input on client needs, strengths, and weaknesses, and discuss client progress to assist the team in developing client individual program plans.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and general cleaning of training materials, work areas, and equipment, such as beds, bed rails, wheelchairs, splints, braces, adaptive mealtime equipment, and various assistive technology devices.
  • May drive or ride a van to transport and accompany clients to and from the facility or around grounds.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of instructing and assisting clients in developing functional, social, recreational, and vocational skills.
  • Knowledge of working with persons with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of applying laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of narrative report writing.
