Foothill De Anza Community College District is seeking a qualified Part-Time Noncredit Parenting Instructor to join our team. As a Parenting Education Specialist, you will play a vital role in promoting family engagement, school and workforce readiness, and pathways to post-secondary education for families with children birth through adolescents.
Key Responsibilities- Teach Noncredit Parenting courses that promote family support and involvement, recognizing parents as partners in expanding their knowledge of child development.
- Support parents in realizing their roles and abilities, building confidence and leadership necessary to be their child's greatest advocate.
- Provide families with opportunities for continued education to gain the tools to raise healthy, successful children.
This is an indoor, office environment position that requires regular standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods of time. The successful candidate will be able to perform the physical abilities required for the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Minimum Qualifications- Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty, and staff.
- Minimum Qualifications for this position as defined in the Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administrators in California Community Colleges published by the Academic Affairs Division, Chancellor's Office, California Community Colleges.
- Bachelor's degree in child development, early childhood education, human development, family and consumer studies with a specialization in child development or early childhood education, educational psychology with a specialization in child development, elementary education, psychology, or family life studies.
- Two years of professional experience in early childhood programs or parenting education.
The salary range for this position is based on the applicant's verified education and experience. The successful candidate will be required to provide proof of authorization to work in the U.S.
