Clinical Research Nurse Blood Cancer Specialist

Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI), a subsidiary of McKesson, is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Research Nurse to join its team. As part of the Colorado Blood Cancer Unit at Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center, this individual will play a vital role in advancing oncology treatments and improving outcomes for cancer patients globally.
About the Role:
This Research Nurse position involves screening, enrolling, and following study subjects while ensuring protocol compliance and close monitoring during their participation. Key responsibilities include data collection, source documentation, and recording adverse events. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for recruiting, screening, enrolling, treating, and following up on eligible participants according to protocol requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Reviewing study design and inclusion/exclusion criteria with physician and patient
• Ensuring patient protection by verifying informed consent procedures and adhering to protocol requirements
• Using the protocol as the only tool to screen, treat, and follow patients
• Completing and documenting screening/eligibility accurately
• Accurately completing and submitting on-study forms within two weeks of enrollment
• Ensuring patient documentation is completed at each clinic visit while in screening
• Ensuring all medications are approved prior to initiating treatment or when changing medication regimens, such as crossover studies
• Calculating and documenting BSA, Creatinine Clearance, Urine Protein: Creatinine ratio, and any other calculations or conversions required per protocol
• Scheduling follow-up appointments, scans, or related procedures correctly according to protocol requirements
• Documenting appropriately when patients are removed from protocol
• Reconsenting patients at the next scheduled visit, following availability of updated ICF, and documents process appropriately
Requirements:
An Associate Degree; preferably a Bachelor's Degree
RN License
Knowledge of medical and research terminology
Knowledge of FDA Code of Federal Regulations and GCP
Knowledge of clinical research processes
At least one year of oncology experience, preferably hematology and/or transplant
At least one year of experience in a research setting preferred
Research Certification (ACRP or CCRP) Preferred
Compensation and Benefits:
