Position Overview
The Nurse Practitioner will serve as a vital member of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team, delivering specialized care to critically ill children and their families. This role emphasizes the provision of age-appropriate and culturally competent healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and manage the care of patients within the PICU, including performing admissions and developing care plans.
  • Collaborate closely with attending physicians to oversee the entire inpatient experience, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
  • Engage in research initiatives, quality improvement projects, and educational presentations to enhance evidence-based practices within the unit.
  • Participate in the education and training of nursing staff and residents, fostering a collaborative learning environment.

Work Schedule
The Nurse Practitioner will work scheduled shifts, averaging 40-50 hours per week, with responsibilities that may extend beyond regular hours for educational and outreach activities.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in nursing is required.
  • Current certification as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (or eligibility) recognized by the appropriate regulatory body.
  • Current certifications in CPR/BLS and PALS are mandatory.
  • Experience in a PICU setting is preferred, though new graduates may be considered.
  • A minimum of three years of experience as a registered nurse in a pediatric critical care environment is essential.

Compensation
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and institutional guidelines.
