Job Summary

As an Advanced Practice Provider at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care services. Reporting to a supervising physician, you will be responsible for augmenting their data gathering abilities to make informed decisions and develop patient care plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments, diagnoses, and treatments of patients in an outpatient setting.
  • Utilize sound clinical judgment to escalate or refer patient care to the supervising physician, medical specialists, or other practitioners as needed.
  • Document patient information clearly and concisely in their health records for accurate recording and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the supervising physician and health facility director to strategize, plan, and execute healthcare services for patients.
  • Provide virtual care services and support the onsite clinical team during scheduled on-call hours.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the job classification and/or position description.
Requirements
Graduation from a Physician Assistant's training program approved by the Council on Allied Health Education Accreditation of the American Medical Association. Current Physician Assistant license in the State of Texas or ability to transfer license to Texas. Certification as a Physician Assistant as evidenced by passing the examinations given by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants. OR Graduation from an accredited school of nursing as a nurse practitioner from an approved certification program recognized by Texas Board of Nursing. Current R.N. license as approved by the Texas Board of Nursing or ability to transfer license to Texas. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner from an approved certification program as recognized by Texas Board of Nursing or ability to transfer certification to Texas.
