Position Summary:
The primary responsibility of our paint technician is to mentor painters, provide ongoing feedback regarding product quality and production rates, collaborate with painters and mask washers to resolve masking issues, and maintain regular communication with the Production Supervisor regarding all operational matters.
This position operates on the 2nd Shift.
Supervisory Duties:
- Prepare and submit an End of Shift Report (written or via email) detailing daily production runs to the Production Supervisor.
- Notify the Production Supervisor of any downtime occurring after 15 minutes.
- Document all factors that hindered production from achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) or daily scheduled goals in the End of Shift Report.
- Engage in discussions at the Schedule Board with the Production Supervisor to relay the day's events and outline goals and concerns for the following day.
- Provide weekly updates on action plans concerning rate improvements, material usage, and first-time yields versus quoted improvements.
- Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and submitted to the appropriate personnel.
- Verify that all paint is labeled with APPROVED stickers and that all cut paint documentation is filled out correctly and thoroughly.
- Oversee that all required maintenance is performed and documented, maximizing uptime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain uptime across all scheduled production lines.
- Maintain a continuous presence on the production floor in the Paint Area (observing, listening, training, guiding, mentoring, supervising).
- Achieve a noticeable improvement in daily production effectiveness, including:
- Material Usage
- First-time yield
- Quoted Production Per Hour (PPH)
- Overall line effectiveness

Education and Experience:
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Experience in manual painting is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to consistently meet or exceed established productivity and quality standards.
