Job Title: IDD Lead Residential Advisor

At Y.A.P.A. Apartment Living Program, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate IDD Lead Residential Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our residential support staff, you will play a vital role in enabling individuals with serious mental illness, co-occurring substance use disorder, and/or dual diagnosis of SMI and IDD to live a meaningful life in the community.

Job Summary:

The IDD Lead Residential Advisor will provide oversight and direct support to residential living arrangements, ensuring a safe, clean, and supportive environment for our members. This role involves implementing and documenting behavior support plans, overseeing medication rooms, and providing supervision and training to residential advisors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support and assistance to members with daily living activities, including meal planning, menu development, and food shopping.
  • Implement and document behavior support plans, medication administration, and medication logs.
  • Oversee medication rooms, ensure accurate documentation, and maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Provide supervision and training to residential advisors, ensuring they meet the needs of our members.
  • Complete incident reports, shift notes, and other documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Facilitate and co-facilitate groups and activities, ensuring a positive and engaging experience for our members.
  • Transport members to appointments and activities, providing a safe and supportive environment.
  • Participate in phone coaching and crisis management, providing support and guidance to members and staff.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of supervisory experience, preferably in a residential setting.
  • Experience with medication oversight and observation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Valid driver's license.
