Medical Assistant Primary Care Clinic Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team at Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City, Montana. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative and clinical support to healthcare providers, including preparing patients for exams, taking vital signs, and documenting patient information.
- Assist with routine tests, such as EKGs, hearing and vision screens, and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Communicate test results to patients and establish plans of care by phone or mail as directed by the provider.
- Prepare and maintain patient exam rooms, including cleaning and sterilizing instruments and equipment.
- Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.
- Escalate non-routine issues, questions, and/or concerns to the practice manager and/or healthcare provider(s).
- Ensure safety checklists/quality controls are completed as required.
- Promote mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health, and abide by service behavior standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Current BLS Certification is required upon hire or within 60 days of hire upon approval.
- Three (3) months previous experience within a healthcare setting is required.
- Successful completion of initial MA onboarding within 90 days, annual skills fair, and in-services for site-specific tasks is required.
- Ability to successfully function in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy is required.
- Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Successful completion of an Accredited National Certification Exam for Certified Medical Assistants (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is preferred.
- One (1) year Medical Assistant experience is preferred.
This position requires regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts. The employee must be able to understand and apply information, policies, procedures, and skills required by the position. The employee must possess knowledge of the meaning and use of medical terminology and abbreviations, as well as knowledge of medical practice and care to assist in providing safe, quality patient care.
Physical RequirementsThe employee must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. The employee must also be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations. The employee must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients, and will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. The employee must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
