Position Summary

We are seeking an Environmental Geology Specialist to join our team. In this capacity, you will concentrate on identifying geohazards, conducting field surveys, and documenting soil and rock characteristics for various projects within our Earth & Environment Division. The ideal candidate should be adept at utilizing technology in geological assessments, collaborating in fieldwork with project teams, and assisting in geological and geotechnical evaluations and investigations.

This position provides the opportunity to engage in diverse projects related to pipelines, transportation routes, and infrastructure development, necessitating a strong understanding of geomorphology and the geological features of the Appalachian Basin.

In this role, you will be part of a vibrant team that delivers innovative solutions for geological, civil, and geotechnical engineering initiatives.

Your responsibilities will encompass a blend of office and field activities, requiring meticulous attention to detail, problem-solving capabilities, and proactive communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project teams on geological and geotechnical initiatives involving fieldwork, data analysis, and office-related tasks.
  • Assist in projects aimed at geohazard identification, investigation, mitigation, and geotechnical engineering.
  • Prepare, review, and summarize technical documentation, reports, and visual representations related to geology and engineering.
  • Conduct field geological exploration activities and manage data to effectively support project teams.
  • Uphold quality control standards, adhere to safety protocols, and follow project-specific guidelines.
  • Complete necessary training and contribute to the overall success of the team.
Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in geology or a related discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in engineering geology.
  • Proficiency in geological research methodologies and client engagement.
  • Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and technological proficiency.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, capable of multitasking, and a team player.
  • Proficient in technical writing and office software applications.
  • Commitment to safety, compliance, and willingness to travel as needed.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in geology or a related field.
  • Experience in geomorphology, GIS, and remote sensing technologies.
  • Familiarity with geotechnical engineering principles.
  • Participation in professional organizations related to the field.
