Location: Redmond

Compensation: $25.97/hour (additional $0.50 for Bilingual Spanish) - Union represented

Hours: Regular full-time, 40 hours/week, with typical school year furloughs (approximately 6 weeks per year)

Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package including 100% premium coverage for Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance, Agency-funded Retirement plan (up to 6%), nearly 2 weeks of paid vacation accrued within the first year, 14 paid Holidays annually, and a separate sick leave accrual.

Program Overview:

NeighborImpact's Head Start program is a holistic early education initiative designed to serve children and families in Central Oregon. It combines high-quality pre-kindergarten education with essential services such as health, nutrition, and family advocacy. Operating across various locations, the program fosters social competence, school readiness, and the overall well-being of children aged three to five.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with identified families to promote asset development, family wellness, partnerships, and parental involvement in the program.
  • Act as a liaison between classroom and home environments, as well as between families and other NeighborImpact programs and community services.
  • Provide consultation, support, and mentoring to program staff regarding family services.
  • Participate as a member of the ERSEA (Enrollment, Recruitment, Selection, Eligibility, and Attendance) team, focusing on recruitment, enrollment, and attendance initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling, or a related field required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a social services setting, preferably in family services, or at least one year of experience in a Head Start Classroom, or proof of enrollment in a Human Services Program.
  • Proficient in computer applications including word processing, email, and internet.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in a Head Start program preferred.
  • Prior Head Start parent or experience preferred.
  • Flexible schedule availability to accommodate family needs, including potential evening or weekend hours.
  • Ability to perform frequent kneeling, stooping, bending, and sitting on the floor to attend to children's needs; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Initial health examination and periodic re-examinations as recommended by a healthcare provider to ensure no significant health risks to others.

Requirements prior to hire:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Proof of current auto insurance
  • Food Handler's Card
  • Current enrollment in the OR Child Care Division-Criminal Background Registry (CBR)
  • Access to reliable transportation
  • Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification required within 60 days of hire; certifications must remain current for continued employment.
