Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Business Partner to join our team at Securian Financial Group. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in supporting the overall expense management of our Securian Business Services (SBS) areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Expense Budget Planning: Collaborate with SBS leaders to develop and manage expense budgets, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Provide financial analysis and reporting to SBS leaders, including expense monitoring and variance analysis.
  • Financial Planning and Strategy: Work with SBS leaders to identify strategies to manage expenses in a manner that supports strong financial management while driving business outcomes.
  • Financial Operations and Planning: Partner with SBS leaders to review allocation methods, ensuring operational expenses are charged to the appropriate profit center.
  • Financial Communication and Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between SBS leaders and business areas to review budget and actual expenses, including allocations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance-related field (accounting, finance, actuarial, etc.).
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in finance and/or within a finance business role.
  • Skills: Solid analytical and creative problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Requirements
  • Finance Business Partner Experience: Previous experience as a finance business partner.
  • Background in Operations Expense and Staff Management: Background in operations expense and staff management.
  • SAP Experience: Experience with SAP.
