Job Summary

Touro University New York is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach graduate courses in the field of Education. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, assessing student learning, and contributing to the development of the program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Instruction
    • Teach graduate-level courses in Education, including courses on child and adolescent development, assessment, teaching students with disabilities, literacy instruction, mathematics and science instruction, educational technology, and history and philosophy of general and special education.
    • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, assessments, and evaluations to promote student learning and achievement.
  • Program Development and Support
    • Participate in the development and implementation of program curriculum, assessments, and evaluations.
    • Contribute to the development of program policies and procedures.
    • Support program advisement for candidates.
  • Professional Development and Service
    • Participate in faculty collaborative learning and professional development opportunities.
    • Engage in scholarly productivity, including research, publication, and presentation.
Qualifications
  • Education
    • Masters degree required, earned doctorate preferred, in Curriculum, Instruction, Special Education, or related field.
  • Experience
    • Successful classroom teaching experience, Birth Grade 2, of diverse students.
    • Successful graduate-level teaching experience, face-to-face and/or online.
    • Successful leadership experience.
    • Experience in course and program design.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    • Proficiency in online learning platforms, including Canvas and Zoom.
Working Conditions

The Adjunct Faculty member will work on a part-time basis, teaching graduate courses on campus and online. Occasional travel to program meetings may be required.
