Job Summary:

This position is for a skilled Artillery Repairer Leader to join our team at the Army National Guard Units.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Artillery Repairers in performing maintenance, repair, and inspections on electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components of armored vehicle turrets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assigns work orders to team members and selects workers based on their knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Ensures that needed plans, blueprints, material, and tools are available and that necessary stock is obtained from supply locations.
  • Works alongside other workers to perform non-supervisory repair work of the same kind and level as that done by the group led.
  • Assures that there is enough work to keep the team busy and checks work in progress for compliance with supervisor's instructions and established shop procedures.
  • Provides information to the supervisor on status and progress of work, causes of delays, and overall work operations and problems.
  • Performs maintenance on the electrical system of turrets, mortars, and artillery, including repairs to stabilization control systems, circuit breakers, distribution boxes, cables, and wiring systems.
  • Tests and repairs electrical test sets used to test the electrical systems of tank turrets, mortars, and artillery.

Requirements:

  • Membership in the Ohio Army National Guard is required.
  • Must be eligible for immediate membership in the Ohio Army National Guard.
  • Must have the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related to the repair function of this occupational series.
  • Must have the ability to perform administrative functions, read and interpret technical publications, and provide guidance to others in work related directly to this occupational series.
