Position Overview

Deliver vascular testing and Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) services to patients while spearheading accreditation (ICAVL) initiatives within the department.

  • Conduct vascular and ABI examinations as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Recognize anatomical structures and abnormal blood flow patterns.
  • Relay findings to physicians and other healthcare team members.
  • Provide explanations and guidance to patients and their caregivers as needed.
  • Adhere to all protocols and documentation requirements as specified by cardiologists and ICAVL.
  • Maintain all vascular and ABI equipment, ensuring proper calibration and cleanliness of examination areas.
  • Attend all relevant meetings as required.
  • Safeguard patient confidentiality and health information as mandated.
  • Oversee Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance programs to uphold ICAVL accreditation.
  • Regularly review patient schedules and adjust availability to meet patient demand.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Current registration as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as an RVT sonographer.
  • CPR certification.

  • Excellent computer proficiency.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information and adhere to regulations surrounding PHI, HIPAA, etc.
