The Casino Financial Auditor plays a crucial role in ensuring adherence to internal controls established by the organization through continuous auditing processes. This position involves gathering data to rectify any identified deficiencies or weaknesses in operational procedures.
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
The following responsibilities are indicative of the role and are not exhaustive:
- Conducts audits across various departments including Cage, Count Rooms, Slots, Table Games, Poker, Retail, Valet, Food and Beverage, and others as directed by the Revenue Audit Manager or the Director of Finance.
- Assists in the development and execution of an audit schedule that guarantees comprehensive coverage of all operational areas.
- Evaluates, analyzes, and reports on the effectiveness of compliance with established internal controls.
- Collaborates with the Senior Revenue Auditor to identify operational and control weaknesses, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Analyzes marketing promotions and special events to assess their cost-effectiveness.
- Conducts staffing analyses as required.
- Engages in special projects as assigned by senior management.
Must possess the ability to:
- Communicate effectively with all levels of team members, guests, and external contacts.
- Function efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Navigate all work areas effectively and efficiently.
- Work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Alternate between seated and standing positions for prolonged periods.
- Minimum age requirement of 18 years.
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills are essential.
In addition to the aforementioned duties, every team member is responsible for compliance with laws and regulations:
- Participate in mandatory training sessions provided by the casino.
- Obtain necessary licenses.
- Perform duties in accordance with local laws and regulations.
- Ensure that minors are prohibited from gambling or loitering in gaming areas, consuming alcoholic beverages, or purchasing tobacco.
- Understand the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relevant to their department.
- Be aware of the property's initiatives addressing problem gambling.
- Consult with appropriate personnel and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with gaming regulations and internal controls.
- Take appropriate actions to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations, reporting such instances to the relevant management levels.
- Report any observed misconduct by team members.
