Position Overview

The Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing both screening and diagnostic mammograms under the supervision of a radiologist. This role requires proficiency in operating advanced digital mammography equipment and ensuring high-quality imaging results.

Certification Requirements
  • BLS: Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA Certification is mandatory.
  • RTM: Registered Technologist in Mammography - ARRT Certification is required.
  • RTR: Registered Technologist in Radiography - ARRT Certification is necessary.
Job Details
  • Schedule: 4x10 hours, Monday through Thursday.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year of professional experience in breast imaging is required.
  • Equipment: Proficient in using Hologic mammography machines.
  • First-time travelers: Welcomed.
  • Local candidates: Encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities

Under the guidance of a radiologist, the Mammography Technologist will:

  • Conduct screening and diagnostic mammograms.
  • Utilize Denver Health's PACS system for imaging management.
  • Maintain accurate records of examinations and patient information using Epic.
  • Prepare order requisitions and patient history for radiologists.
  • Assist in scheduling breast diagnostic studies through Epic.
  • Support the maintenance of departmental inventory.
  • Ensure a clean and organized working environment.

  • Expertise in operating digital mammography technology.
  • Competence in performing screening and diagnostic mammograms.
  • Understanding of age-specific care requirements for patients.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication and collaboration.
  • Ability to interpret physician orders accurately.
  • Judgment in configuring equipment settings for optimal imaging.
  • Commitment to producing high-quality images related to breast health.
Additional Information
  • On-call Requirement: No on-call duties are expected.
  • RTO Restrictions: Limited to 5 days of RTO per 13-week contract.
  • Uniform: Scrub color is Rich Purple/Eggplant.
