Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in ongoing professional development and lifelong learning.
  • Serve as a first assistant in cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures within the operating room.
  • Actively participate as a member of the surgical team, enhancing the efficiency of the perioperative department.
  • Provide first assistant support in intricate cardiac surgeries, including but not limited to: cardiac bypass, aortic valve procedures, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), transplants, and assist devices. Additionally, responsible for vessel harvesting for bypass surgeries using both open and endovascular techniques.
  • Monitor patient responses and adjust care plans as necessary.
  • RNFA – Cardiac (open heart) focus.
  • Work schedule: Four 10-hour shifts with rotating days off.
  • On-call requirements: Weekday once every two weeks, weekend once every eight weeks.

Candidate Profile

  • ASN required; BSN preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Cardiac RNFA.
  • Experience with Endoscopic Vessel Harvesting (EVH).
  • Certification as a Nurse Operating Room (CNOR).
  • Certified RN First Assistant credential.
